a book and a beach.

A good book and lots of beach.
Need I say more.
(Well maybe just one more thing . . .
lots of time with my lovely husband.)

Bryan and I just returned
from a few days of
relaxation on the
Mexican Shoreline.
It was a few days of perfection . . .
the kiddos were the only
thing missing.
They enjoyed their own
little get getaway
at Grandma and Grandpa's.

This was the scene just a few minutes
in to the two hour trip back to our
home sweet home.

My blog may be left lonely for
just a few more days . . .
I have lots to catch up on.
"Catching up afterwards.
The worst part about vacation.
Next to unpacking of course."
Wish me luck with both :).

his first true love.

It is time I admit it, my short of three weeks
4 year old has met his first love . . . and not just recently.
His attraction for her began almost 3 years ago.

They just might be soulmates.

He knows her every move . . .
if their old, if their new.
He loves all of the stories she tells
through her constant motion
and ever changing clamor.

Oh, no one tells stories quite like her.

I am partially to blame
for his falling in love . . . well at least the love
that he has gained for her throughout the last year.
I have let him spend substantial amounts of time
with her while I was preoccupied tending
to our newest addition (Miss Isla).  However,
I am placing most of the blame on Mr. A
because he too is head over heels with her.
Even though our little man is
absolutely smitten, I am not too worried . . . yet anyway.
Playing outside, reading books, rough housing/ "play"
hunting with Dad, and doing messy things with Mom
still take precedence over his time with her.

He is so enchanted with her here
he didn't even know I was taking his
picture.  Well being up at 5:30am
and no nap didn't help either.

She goes by SONY or SYMPHONIC in our house,
but she may go by SHARP, PHILIPS, or SAMSUNG in yours.
However, most just call her T.V. for short.

Yes, she is Maddox's first true love.

And yes . . . I admit it.
My T.V. restriction skills
are substantially less than par.

And this is a total subject change,
but I find the need to document just one more thing.
I made my bed . . . . two days in a row.
I believe that may be a tie with the number
of times it has been made all year.
I think I will just blame this on Bryan's schedule.
If you haven't noticed I blame alot of things on his schedule.
But really he is still sleeping or is just going to bed
when I leave for work most mornings.
It was made yesterday for a special guest.
Promise to tell you more about her later.
And today . . . well today I made it just because
it looked so nice yesterday :).
However the success it so short lived -
reference below picture.

decisions.

She's finally made the decision that she is going to walk
everywhere and crawl nowhere.  That wreckless, hands up,
accident waiting to happen type of walk (or should we say jaunt
because really its somewhat faster than a walk).

And I have finally
made the decision to
start doing something active other than
mothering these days so this a.m.
I awoke from my slumber
(that was awakened by not just one,
but two kiddos last night . . . ugh),
laced up my really ancient,
but the only pair I have right now tennis shoes
and went for a run.
Actually, calling what I did this morning a run
is giving it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
too much credit.  It felt more like,
and I am sure resembled, those awkward and
heavy first steps of ummmmmm
maybe a baby elephant.
My goal was what, back during the good ol' days,
wouldn't have even been a decent warm up,
but I made it.
Now lets just see if I can keep this up consistently
through late nights, early mornings,
hot muggy days, Bryan's ever changing schedule,
and any other excuse I may come up
with between now and my next scheduled run day :).
I have to say, my most favorite part about running
is perhaps the time I get to spend with just
me, myself, and I.

Gots to go.
Isla doesn't need one more marshmallow.
Food . . . its the only thing that keeps her
out of trouble these days.

another birthday.

     Dad~

We know that they're not what they used to be, but we hope that you had
a wonderful Birthday.  We enjoyed every shared moment!

Easter and The Bunny.

I hope that everyone had an egg-ceptional Easter!

I know we did.

We were visited by the
Easter Bunny again this year.

  A bunny delivering eggs . . . huh?!
I have always questioned the meaning behind that one.

She/ he made a quick visit by our house and
then stopped by my sister's house later on in the day.
So we were lucky enough to get two peeks at the BIG bunny.

Maddox noted that the one that visited our house was a girl because
it had painted toenails (he could see them peeking out from
underneath the costume) and the one at Aunt Tesa's house
was a boy because it had tennis shoes on.
(I knew that he would notice that detail.)

Perhaps the sweetest moment of the day.

I am so disappointed . . .
I didn't even get one family picture yesterday
and it seems that I never do on those rare
occasions that we are all showered/ bathed
and have nice clothes on free of stains, food, holes, etc.
I vow that the next holiday I will get some good pics
or at least a good family pic:)!

And the bunny . . . it was my oh-so-amazing mom.
Thanks for the memories!
