"soooooooooooooooooooo nice" weekend.

Here are some random pics from a wonderful "non-busy" weekend.  We enjoyed every minute of it- it was Bryan's last weekend off for awhile and we were finally at home after being gone the majority of the last two (sooooooooooooooooooo nice) .  The older I get the more of a "home-body" I find myself becoming.

I am warning you - I was pretty picture happy this weekend.

Painting.

Now only if Maddox could assist me in painting the dining room.

Some time in the country.

Maddox, to put it nicely, is an uncooperative subject when it comes to taking his picture - no matter what we try to bribe him with.  I am in love with Isla's brown eyes (hence all of the close ups)- I never thought I would have a "brown-eyed girl".

Exer-saucer.

Isla was introduced to the exer-saucer this weekend and thought that it was the best thing in her little world.

Bath time.

There is something extra-specially cute about bath time in the sink.

Rainy Sunday.

With winter fast approaching, every minute spent outside feels especially sweet.

Randomness.

Earlier this evening Maddox spotted a couple deflated balloons that I had thrown away(I have to be really sneaky when throwing anything away), he immediately ran into the other room and yelled in a very serious tone "someone call 9-1-1 somebody threw my ballons away".

vacation [va-'ka-shen]

definition: a scheduled period during which activity is suspended

We just returned home from a wonderfully long weekend away with family and friends in Branson, MO. However, in reference to the definition of vacation above I am not for sure that because of the work it required to keep a 3 year old and 3 month old in check for 4 days that you could term it a vacation (activity was definitely not suspended). No really we had a great time and made some wonderful memories, but I think that it was Bryan and I's first real test as parents of two.
Moment to remember: Maddox told Bryan today that when he gets bigger he doesn't want to work like Mommy, but he wants to be a policeman like his Dad - I had to smile at this one even though I know that Bryan does work very hard.

thanks to jon and kate . . .

Maddox watched "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" with me last night and on the show Kate let all of her kids paint their entire bodies with pudding so Maddox was pretty determined that he was going to get to do the same. Ursa had a better idea - lets use shaving cream and eat the pudding instead. We enjoyed both!!!

Moment to remember: Right now Maddox is "search warranting" the house when he should be fast asleep.

another weekend come and gone . . .

Friday -Bought some school supplies for Mr. Maddox. By the way THANKS for the new shoes Nina - he had to wear them around the house tonight after his bath. Kids and new shoes are so cute - it is so funny how they think that anytime they get a new pair of shoes they can all of sudden jump higher and run faster.

Saturday - Went swimming with cousins Emily and Kenadi. Maddox went off the diving borad for the first time - as you can see by the picture he definitely had some assistance. He ended up jumping in 5 or 6 times.

Sunday - Just hung out most of the day and had dinner over at Andy, Ursa, and Enzo's house - it was fantastic as usual.
One thing we did alot of this weekend was miss Daddy. Soon we will have him home again on weekends. I also have been on this "redecorate and rearrange the house" kick lately. I worked on the front room today - I will have to display some pics when I am done. I always find that rearranging things is a good excuse to buy something new whether it be a piece of furniture or a decorative item or both :0). Rearranging things also helps motivate me to do a good thorough cleaning. Lets hope Monday morning starts off better than Sunday morning. Did I happen to mention that just as I got my two kids unloaded at church my flip flop broke - do you know how hard it is to walk when the little portion of the flip flop that goes between your toes totally breaks away from the sole. Needless to say I didn't make it up to communion at church and Maddox insisted on trying to fix my shoe throughout the entire church service. Oh well - it makes me smile now. Here's to a HAPPY MONDAY!
