I know . . . I feel like I have been gone FOREVER.
It has been almost a week since I have touched my blog or really anyone else's for that matter.
Well aside for a few peeks here and there.
It was actually kind of nice to distance myself from the internet for a few days.
My real reason for not blogging was after the kiddos were in bed each night
I was up to my tired eyeballs in paint. And it seems to be that when I get started on a project I become totally consumed- maybe this is why it takes so much effort for me to get started on my list of "to dos".
Anyway, a week and lots and lots of paint later the dining room is close enough that
I can use it and done in the same sentence.
It is a pretty small room so you are probably asking yourself what took her so long to finish.
There are a few reasons for this-
kids
husband on evening shift
and
really the room itself didn't take me that long it was those darn
corner hutches that I think have been painted about 703 times since the house was built
(and really they could still use another coat and the doors haven't been put back on yet).
The color is about a shade or two brighter than what I was thinking,
but it will do for now and I think when I get it all decorated it will work
I like the way it kind of sort of matches Maddox's eyes :0).
Maddox enjoying the open space because someone sold the dining room table.
I am thinking something simple like
this with a bench on one side
and
these (but I found them cheaper somewhere else- I am just to lazy to track the other
site down right now) and that the whole room ends up looking like what I have envisioned
in my head without going tons over what I made on my craigslist sale.
Check back in in a week or two and hopefully I can show you the end result.
By the way . . .
I just had to show you these after a week too.
Disgusting, I know.
AND, just one more thing.
Did you really think that I could go a whole week without mentioning Miss "I".
She turned 8 months last week and is clapping up a storm and thinks it is hilarious.
Still no teeth.
And I hope that I am not a bad Mom for doing this.
She was watching Maddox so intently when he was eating his and
I just couldn't resist letting her gnaw on a french fry this weekend.
