happy days.

two may birthdays means lots of happy in our house this month.

maddox's is the 10th and we are not really doing the party thing this year.
we are taking him and his two bestest friends to an indoor play place
and then i plan on taking off on his actual birthday day so
that we can share his big day together.  just me and him . . .
we haven't had too much of me and him time since little missy came along.
i am already hoping his big day is filled with lots of sunshine so
that we can spend at least part of the day outside.
he got some seeds for easter and has been wanting to plant them
"in a garden" every day since.

a glimpse of m's big day.

miss i's birthday is just 10 short days after m's.
if i didn't enjoy disecting every little detail that goes
into the party planning process,
i's big day would also be a rather simple affair -
mainly just family, a cake, and a few balloons (because she loves them so).
i mean really i should just call i's big day my big day because
as i learned with maddox's first they are ready to take a nap well
before they even get their first taste of their
famous first cake and you end up opening all of the presents that
they really don't care too much about yet.
oh well, it's a good excuse to gather the fam.

a glimpse of i's big day.

other happy from today. . .
isla's first experience on a two wheeler.
i am not for sure what maddox is telling her, but
i love the look on her face and the death grip she
has on his shirt.

and just one more bit of happy . . .
corn on the cob and maddox
shucking it.

and no this isn't about happy and no we don't have any pets.
just a one year old who likes eating vanilla wafers and looking outside.

made a LIST. checked it TWICE.

As most, I had a list of things (holiday preparations) I wanted to accomplish this weekend and before Christmas.  My hope was to get everything done so that I could enjoy the next few days and not necessarily HAVE to do much of anything, but just be able to what I WANT to do and soak up all of the warmth and joy of my family and Christmas!

Have just one or two more left to wrap, but for the most part- task accomplished.
ALMOST DONE.

Wash sheets and clean up bedrooms.
DONE.

It had been about 6 months since I had a haircut- at least 6-8  inches came off yesterday.
I feel like a new woman.
DONE.

I am happy to annouce that I will be sending out Holiday Greetings this year (unlike last) in the form of "Happy New Year" cards.  Task almost accomplished- just waiting on envelopes to arrive.

Make snowglobes for table centerpiece.
DONE.

Wanted to try my hand at making some scarves- learned I need alot more practice when it comes to sewing.  Even something as simple as a scarf takes me awhile.
BUT DONE.

(One for Maddox.  One for Isla.
And I threw in one for me while I was in the sewing mood.)

I wanted to make an ornament for Isla.  Another thing that taught me I need alot more
"sewing" practice.  It isn't exactly what I was thinking, but it will do. One more thing that I might try to do this week is make a "boy" face to go with it, but only if I WANT too :0). Was inspired by these.
DONE.

#8  MAKE PICTURE COLLAGE.  BUT YOU CAN'T SEE THIS ONE. (ITS A SECRET BECAUSE ITS A PRESENT.)
DONE.

My "Holiday" goal this year was to not repeat the craziness of last year- I wanted to not be wrapping presents Christmas Eve and making presents Christmas Day.  I think I can safely say I have accomplished my goal.  Bring on Christmas and lots of time with family and friends- I'm ready!

On a side note:
I did some exploring on Heather Bailey's blog this weekend.  Loved this for some reason.

and for the holidays

Found this too.
LOVE the color, LOVE the curtains (Jennifer Paganelli fabric), LOVE the bunting,
LOVE the ceiling, LOVE the windows, LOVE it all.

Image came from here.
