photo class.

4 years . . . that is how long it has taken me to "really"
understand the manual settings on my camera.
Actually, saying I "really" understand anything just yet would be
giving myself way too much credit.  It would be more politically correct
for me say the information is there, swirling around in my head,
now I must just embrace it and use it for me to say that I "really" do get it.

Lots of love to these ladies for offering up
their amazing talent and knowledge with us.
Hopefully it will change the way I take pictures forever.
You have given me the opportunity to not have to go
another year not "really" getting it :).

And thank you to these fab gals for making it a great time.

Our assignment now it to go out get some "fresh" shots
with our new found knowledge, but I think I already have
mine with this last pic . . . I think it might just be a winner (love it).

the party.

Party Day.

The Birthday Girl.

She pranced around the entire day as if she knew it was all about her.
Setting the Mood.

The Guests Arrived.

We Ate.

Yes . . . even spiderman made an appearance.

A Game.

Pin the hair bow on Isla to be exact.

Present Opening Time.

Perhaps her new baby doll being her favorite.
The rehabbed doll bed from brother will come in handy.
The only thing missing was her birthday quilt
(which I hope to have and be able to show you very soon).

Cake Time.

More Fun and Games.

Party Favors.

The End.

Olive.  My friend Ursa's little one. She's a little piece of heaven.

Awwwww ......... Nice and Clean.

I think we will keep the party decor around for awhile.

The PARTY . . . nothing BIG or SPECTACULAR . . . but PERFECT it was.

We loved having company and sharing "I's" BIG day with them.
(I forgot how nice it was to have company and throw a party for that matter.)
Nothing like a party to help raise my spirits about my little girl turning the BIG one!

Lots of love to my friend Ursa for all of the pictures!
And all of your handmade goodness ;).

oh . . . what a difference a year makes.

MAY 2009

MAY 2010

PURE BLISS . . .
so I wanted to tell you how the day was nothing but;
however, I must be truthful as much as I tried to
be overjoyed by the fact that I have a
big toothed,
cheesy grinning,
loves to growl,
sassy yet sweet,
happy and healthy most of the time,
30 inch,
just over 20 pounds
one year old
I felt like doing this for most of the day.

Let's just say I'm a mess.
I am taking this "turning one thing"
alot harder this time 'round.
The good thing is is that I don't usually
stay too much of a mess for too long.

Anyway, enough about me,
lets focus on some happy.

. . . feeling better already.

PS - People who take pictures of one year olds for a living are well beyond SUPER HERO status in my book.

one.

someONE is ONE tomorrow!
{oh what a happy but a little bit sad day it will be.}

5.18.2010

tuesday.

This was this morning . . .

the first morning that my now 4 year old
boy has dressed himself
from head to toe (this excludes tying his shoes-
well the one that is tied anyway).
The police hat of course his idea.
He wore it ALL day yesterday and wanted
to wear it again today even though it itches and
is a size too small.  He tells us that he is going to work
to catch the bad guys.  Yesterday he said he got a couple
of the bad guys guns, but the guys gotta way.
Hopefully he has better luck today :).

I have been having some fun prepping for
Miss I's "BIG 1" party which is this weekend.
I have decided that without buying one new thing
I could open up a party decor/ supply store.
It's absurd!
I couldn't really come up with a theme
so we will see where all of my beloved
"junk" takes me.

And meet Mr. Stretch.
A toy purchased by "M" with his Birthday $.
A week into 4 years old, I already feel like
"M" is talking more intelligently,
looks taller, and acts like he turned 14
instead of 4.
